Astrid's Bio
Astrid's love for cooking started when she was just a little girl. She would spend entire afternoons watching and learning from the chefs that worked for her parents when she was growing up. She received her first formal education in food preparation while studying in Switzerland. Afterwards, she went to start and run her own catering business specializing in desserts and which served the finest restaurants in Caracas. While running this business she started to develop a concept for a gourmet fast food restaurant that she later went to open and run in Miami, Fl where she gained immense knowledge from a top of the line French baker that was in charge of that department. Her initial idea was to create a franchise after that first one, but after running the business for a while she realized that it would take all her time up and decided to leave the business and have a less hectic and simple life. And teaching people how to cook is something that gives her the possibility to still work in something she loves so much and do it in a more relaxed, less stressful way. Throughout the years she has acquired a very extensive palate which means her experience covers many international flavors. Amongst her favorite cuisines are the Italian, French, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Lebanese, Venezuelan, Mexican and others but she likes to keep experimenting and trying new things. While running both of businesses she learned ways to make cooking and the clean up process very efficient and these tips will be very valuable and time-saving to anyone that wants to get in a kitchen to cook.
